Amid growing concerns over the environmental impact of tourism, ITDC has demonstrated that the tourism industry can go hand in hand with nature conservation. Through green area management programs and collaboration with organic farmers, ITDC has proven its commitment to sustainable tourism, earning two national awards at the Tri Hita Karana (THK) Tourism Awards 2026 on Friday night (Jan 9, 2025).
Held at the Kharisma Ballroom, Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, ITDC received the THK Awards “Lifetime Achievement”, recognizing the company’s participation for ten consecutive years and its achievement of the super platinum award twice. The award was presented to Febrina Mediana, Director of Commercial & Marketing of ITDC.
Meanwhile, the THK-CSR Award, which recognizes the synergy between ITDC and organic farmers in realizing sustainable agriculture and green tourism, was received by I Made Agus Dwiatmika, General Manager of The Nusa Dua.
These two awards serve as recognition of ITDC’s consistency in managing world-class tourism destinations based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, which emphasizes harmony among people, nature, and culture. Furthermore, the achievements reflect the company’s commitment to implementing sustainable Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) programs that have a tangible impact on empowering local communities and protecting the environment, particularly in the The Nusa Dua area, Bali.
Febrina Mediana stated that ITDC’s achievements reflect the company’s consistency in applying Tri Hita Karana principles in developing and managing tourism areas.
“This award motivates us to further strengthen sustainable and inclusive tourism management by placing a balance between economic, social, cultural, and environmental aspects as the main foundation in every area development,” she said.
General Manager of The Nusa Dua, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, added that the THK-CSR Award is the result of close collaboration with all stakeholders in the area.
“This award is the result of a shared commitment to carrying out social responsibility programs that provide real benefits for the community and the surrounding environment,” he explained.
The receipt of the THK Awards “Lifetime Achievement” and THK-CSR Awards reinforces ITDC’s position as a national tourism area developer and manager that upholds good governance principles while remaining aligned with social responsibility and the preservation of local cultural values. This achievement encourages the company to continue strengthening tourism area management that adds value to communities, stakeholders, and the national economy.TS-01
