Bali Ocean Days (BOD) will return in 2026 as an annual conference and showcase organized by the Sky Blue Sea Foundation in collaboration with ministries, corporations, NGOs, innovators, and academics.
Designed as an action-oriented platform to support SDG 14 (Life Below Water), Bali Ocean Days brings together cross-sector stakeholders to deliver tangible outcomes and to strengthen Indonesia’s leadership in global ocean conservation and sustainable marine management.
“Our oceans are changing faster than ever, and we must move faster too. Climate change, plastic pollution, and unsustainable development are no longer distant threats. Their impacts are already being felt along coastlines, in tourism, food systems, and coastal communities,” said Yoke Darmawan, Board Member of the Sky Blue Sea Foundation, during a media gathering in Sanur on Sunday (January 11, 2026).
He added that Bali Ocean Days 2026 raises a critical question:
“How fast are we moving, and who is moving together with us?”
Carrying the theme “Navigating Solutions for a Regenerative Ocean Future,” Bali Ocean Days serves as a multi-sector meeting point for business leaders, scientists, innovators, investors, community leaders, NGOs, and storytellers who are driving change.
In its 2026 edition, BOD will feature 24 curated speakers and 12 Eco-Showcase innovators from diverse disciplines and sectors, presenting real-world solutions already in operation — ranging from circular waste management systems and community-based marine protection to new collaborative models linking business, technology, and sustainable finance.
The conference will focus on proven solutions, funding mechanisms that accelerate scalability, and partnerships that generate long-term impact.
Bali Ocean Days 2026 will take place on January 30–31, 2026, at the InterContinental Bali Resort, Jimbaran. Registration is now open through the official platforms balioceandays.id and Megatix.
Sky Blue Sea Trophy of Honor for Sir David Attenborough
One of the major highlights of the event will be the presentation of the Sky Blue Sea Trophy of Honor to Sir David Attenborough, in recognition of his lifetime contribution to ocean storytelling and conservation, in connection with his landmark documentary Ocean with David Attenborough.
The award will be accepted on his behalf by Mr. Toby Nowlan of Silverback Films.
SEA-MaP Business Matchmaking Side Event
Bali Ocean Days 2026 will also host a strategic side event, SEA-MaP Business Matchmaking, supported by the World Bank, aimed at accelerating ocean and plastic solutions into investment-ready and bankable projects.
