Ayodya Resort Bali has joined forces with Diversey Indonesia, a Solenis company, to launch PlasticShreds—an environmental initiative designed to address Bali’s growing plastic pollution and encourage guests to take part in protecting the island’s marine ecosystem.
At the resort’s beachfront area, a dedicated collection point invites guests to dispose of single-use plastics responsibly. The waste is then processed into sustainable materials such as eco gravel, construction blocks, and decorative items, demonstrating how circular solutions can reduce plastic leakage into Bali’s oceans.
Indonesia remains among the largest sources of marine plastic globally, generating an estimated 3.2 million tons of ocean-bound waste each year (World Bank, 2023). Bali alone produces around 480,000 tons of single-use plastic annually, threatening coral reefs, marine life, and livelihoods connected to tourism and fishing.
Ayodya Resort Bali General Manager, Vineet Mahajan, emphasized the resort’s commitment to environmental protection. “We see ourselves as custodians of this island,” he said. “Every bottle collected is a step toward healthier oceans and a more sustainable future for Bali.”
PlasticShreds is part of Ayodya’s ongoing sustainability efforts, including eliminating single-use plastics in guestrooms, food and beverage operations, and public facilities.
Deepak Sahni, Marketing & GSA Director – Southeast Asia, Diversey, underscored the collaborative aspect. “PlasticShreds is more than recycling. It reflects collective responsibility and shared hope, especially in tourism areas where plastic pollution is visible and urgent,” he said.
Through daily waste collection, guest education, and beach clean-ups, Ayodya aims to create a culture of environmental awareness among visitors. The initiative allows travelers to contribute directly to Bali’s conservation efforts while enjoying their holiday.
Ayodya Resort Bali is a five-star family-friendly beachfront property in Nusa Dua, known for blending Balinese culture with resort leisure experiences. The resort continues to invest in sustainability programs, community partnerships, and eco-friendly operations while expanding its facilities, including padel courts and an upcoming paintball arena in 2026.
