SAR teams are still searching for a resident of Banjar Dauh Tukad, Pengeragoan Village, Pekutatan District, Jembrana, on Friday (30/5/2025). The 79-year-old man named Wayan Mender left home to tend his garden on Wednesday (28/5/2025) and has not returned since.
The incident was first reported to the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office on Thursday (29/5/2025) at 16:50 WITA by the village official of Badung Kayu, Teddy Pratama. “Wayan Mender was last seen by locals on Wednesday around 18:00 WITA,” explained I Nyoman Sidakarya, Head of the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office. Last night, four personnel from the Jembrana SAR Post coordinated with the family and local residents.
According to the family, the elderly man was wearing a black shirt and blue shorts when he left. “From our coordination last night with the family, we found out that the victim has poor eyesight, impaired hearing, and shows signs of forgetfulness,” added Sidakarya.
Today, the joint SAR team plans to conduct a search of the garden area, covering approximately 2.6 km². The SAR units involved include the Jembrana SAR Post, Pekutatan Police, Jembrana BPBD, Jembrana PMI, village police (Bhabinkamtibmas) of Pengeragoan, SAR volunteers 115, the victim’s relatives, and local community members.
