Pecatu, todaysSpill.com –The Pecatu Village Office turned into a sea of enthusiasm and joy on Thursday (Aug 14, 2025) as elementary school students gathered to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence and the 67th Anniversary of the Bali Provincial Government through lively coloring and singing competitions.

Since early morning, the front yard of the village office was filled with first to third graders focusing on their coloring sheets, while the second floor echoed with the voices of fourth to sixth graders singing national songs. Cheers from classmates, teachers, and parents added to the vibrant atmosphere.
“The goal of this event is not only about competition, but also to foster togetherness,
sportsmanship, and creativity among Pecatu’s children,” said Committee Vice Chair, Ni Nyoman Jayani Erawati. She added that the program also serves to motivate young generations to express their talents with confidence.
Jayani emphasized that nurturing children is crucial, especially as Pecatu continues to grow as a tourism destination. “We need human resources who are ready to compete. From activities like this, children learn to perform, be brave, and compete in a healthy way,” she explained.
The series of competitions actually began on August 9 with a mini soccer tournament among elementary schools across Pecatu. Winners of the coloring and singing contests will receive trophies, certificates, and development funds during the main Independence Day ceremony on August 17.
The celebration concluded with a friendly gathering and photo session, leaving a lasting impression that independence is not only for adults but can also be joyfully celebrated through children’s creativity. TS-01
