InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), part of the InJourney Group, has strengthened the global readiness of Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit after securing Level-1 Security Certification issued by Indonesia’s National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT). The certification confirms that the venue meets the Minimum Security Standard for Public Facilities under BNPT Regulation No. 3/2022. The certificate was officially handed over at The Sultan Hotel Jakarta (Dec 1).
Unlike a ceremonial administrative requirement, the Level-1 certification places Mandalika among public facilities with the highest risk category that have successfully passed comprehensive security assessment, covering five pillars of national security standards. The assessment reviews terrorism-risk management, threat identification, mitigation planning, structured security arrangement across strategic zones, preventive surveillance, and emergency response readiness during major events.
Continuous evaluations are also required to ensure the circuit maintains and improves its preparedness over time. With the fulfillment of all criteria, Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit is officially recognized as a secure and highly prepared event facility on a national level.
ITDC Director of Operations, Troy Warokka, emphasized that the certification reflects a wider public-safety commitment.
“Receiving Level-1 Certification from BNPT is proof that Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit meets the highest security requirements. This is crucial, considering we host large-scale national and international events every year. Our mission is to ensure every event runs safely, comfortably, and in line with expectations of global promoters and audiences,” Troy stated.
Mandalika has hosted major international racing events such as the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia (MotoGP), Asia Road Racing Championship, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, Shell Eco Marathon, GT World Challenge Asia, as well as multiple festivals and national-scale programs that attract tens of thousands of spectators.
With this certification, Mandalika further solidifies its positioning as a world-class sportstainment destination—not only for its racing infrastructure, but also for its advanced public-safety system. ITDC expects the recognition will enhance confidence among global promoters and unlock more international events in the years ahead. TS-01
