Victim Who Drowned at Mengening Waterfall Found Dead

The victim who drowned at Mengening Waterfall was finally found by a joint SAR team on Friday (21/11/2025) at around 10:30 WITA. The joint SAR team had begun their search earlier at 09:45 WITA.
The search focused on the lower area of the waterfall using snorkeling techniques. “We conducted a manual search because the target was seen surfacing intermittently,” explained Kadek Donny Indrawan, Coordinator of the Buleleng Search and Rescue Post.
When the body of Gede Angga Putra Pratama (15) was evacuated to the shore, the victim’s family members broke down in tears. As requested by the family, the body was transported to the family home using a vehicle from the Kubutambahan Police Sector.
According to personnel involved directly in the field, the search was hampered by strong waterfall currents and murky water. Underwater visibility was only about one meter.
As previously reported, a teenager from Banjar Dinas Tegal, Mengening Village, drowned while bathing at Mengening Waterfall, Buleleng Regency, on Thursday (20/11/2025). The incident occurred when the victim was bathing with two others. While the other two were rescued, Gede Angga Putra Pratama (15) could not be found.
During the two-day SAR operation, multiple agencies were involved, including the Buleleng SAR Post, Kubutambahan Police, Bhabinkamtibmas, Buleleng Water Police, Bhabinsa, Kubutambahan Subdistrict, Buleleng BPBD, Buleleng Balawista, Bhuana Bali Rescue, the victim’s family, and local residents. TS-01
