Badung Athletes Promised IDR 80M Bonus for Gold at Bali Sports Week

A fiery spirit filled the Badung Government Center field on Friday (Aug 15) as Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa officially sent off the Badung contingent for the 16th Bali Provincial Sports Week (PORPROV) 2025.
More than just a ceremonial send-off, the Regent made a bold promise, an IDR 80 million bonus for every athlete who brings home a gold medal. The incentive is set to boost the morale of 934 athletes competing in 51 sports disciplines, supported by 423 officials.
“This is the moment to prove your training. Stay focused, uphold sportsmanship, and bring pride to Badung. Don’t get complacent even though we have been overall champions nine times in a row. Our target is clear—let’s secure our 10th overall title,” said Regent Adi Arnawa.
The Badung contingent has been preparing since February 2025 with athlete selection, three months of intensive training camps, try-outs, and physical tests. Contingent leader I Made Sutama affirmed the team’s readiness to defend their championship title.
The send-off ceremony was made even more festive with a marching band performance by SMA Negeri 1 Kuta, marking the start of Badung’s journey to Bali’s biggest sporting event. TS-02
