Badung, todaysSpill.com —
The Badung Regency Government held a ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Day at the Badung Government Center (Puspem) Field on Monday (June 2, 2025). Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa served as the Inspector of the Ceremony. The event was attended by Vice Regent Bagus Alit Sucipta, Regional Secretary IB Surya Suamba, local military and police leaders (Forkopimda), heads of regional departments, women’s organizations, TNI/Police, and civil servants.
This year’s commemoration carried the theme: “Strengthening the Pancasila Ideology Towards a Great Indonesia.”
In his speech, Regent Adi Arnawa emphasized that Pancasila Day serves as an important moment to reinforce national spirit, especially among the younger generation.
“The spirit of Pancasila must truly be instilled in the hearts of our youth. The values embedded from the first to the fifth principle represent the essence of our national life and must be upheld as the foundation of our ideology,” he stated.
Regent Adi Arnawa also delivered the official address from the Head of Indonesia’s Agency for Pancasila Ideology Education (BPIP), Yudian Wahyudi. In the speech, it was highlighted that every June 1, Indonesia commemorates a pivotal moment in its history—the birth of Pancasila as the state ideology.
“Pancasila is a big house for Indonesia’s diversity. It unites more than 270 million people from various ethnic, religious, racial, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. In Pancasila, we learn that diversity is not a cause for division, but a strength for unity,” he said.
In the context of national development toward Indonesia Emas 2045 (Golden Indonesia 2045), the government has launched Asta Cita, an eight-point priority agenda. One of its most fundamental aspects is strengthening the ideology of Pancasila, democracy, and human rights.
“Without ideological direction, progress becomes fragile. Economic growth without the foundation of Pancasila can lead to inequality. Technological advancement without Pancasila’s moral guidance may result in dehumanization,” he emphasized.
As globalization and digitalization continue to evolve, the challenges facing Pancasila grow more serious. The spread of extremism, radicalism, intolerance, and disinformation poses threats to our social cohesion.
“Through Asta Cita, we are called to revitalize the values of Pancasila in all aspects of life—from education, governance, and the economy to digital spaces,” he concluded.
