In a move to advance sustainable tourism development in Indonesia, the InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has entered into a strategic partnership with PT Signify Commercial Indonesia to implement smart and energy-efficient lighting technology across its managed tourism destinations.
The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by ITDC Director of Operations Troy Warokka and Signify Indonesia Director Lucas Ardhana at the Wantilan ITDC, The Nusa Dua, on Saturday (25/10).
The partnership will be applied across ITDC’s tourism estates — The Nusa Dua in Bali, The Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara, and The Golo Mori in East Nusa Tenggara — focusing on the adoption of innovative Internet of Things (IoT)-based lighting solutions to enhance energy efficiency, visual appeal, and visitor comfort.
“For ITDC, lighting is not merely infrastructure — it is about creating spaces that feel safe, welcoming, and emotionally engaging for all visitors,” said ITDC Director of Operations, Troy Warokka.
Signify Indonesia Director, Lucas Ardhana, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting green tourism. “As a global leader in lighting technology, we are proud to support Indonesia’s tourism sector through smart, energy-efficient lighting solutions that enhance destination appeal while promoting sustainable economic growth,” he stated.
As the first initiative under the partnership, Signify has installed dynamic lighting at the Mandala Statue in The Nusa Dua, coinciding with The Nusa Dua Festival taking place on October 25–26, 2025.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in merging technology with tourism, positioning Indonesian destinations to compete globally while championing environmentally responsible development. TS-01
