As part of its commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and sustainable tourism area, ITDC fully supports the 2025 Mass Vaccination Launch for Rabies-Transmitting Animals (RTA), held on Tuesday (6/5/2025) at the Mini Field, Management Office of The Nusa Dua, Bali. The event was officially opened by the Head of the Bali Province Agriculture and Food Security Agency, representing the Governor of Bali.
More than 100 animals received rabies vaccinations and sterilization services in commemoration of World Veterinary Day. Carrying the theme “Eradicating rabies through animal vaccination for the safety of communities and tourists,” the activity, initiated by Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua Bali, was a result of collaboration between the Bali Provincial Government through the Agriculture and Food Security Agency, ITDC, Forkopimda Badung and Forkopimca South Kuta, PDHI Bali Branch, BAWA, and Seva Bhuana.
The Nusa Dua – ITDC General Manager, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, stated that ITDC’s involvement is a tangible form of support for the Rabies-Free Bali program. “For us, international standards in tourism areas include not only world-class services and infrastructure but must also be reflected in the consistent application of health and environmental safety standards. We appreciate Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua’s initiative in maintaining service quality and tourism assurance in The Nusa Dua area,” he said.
He added that maintaining a healthy and safe area is an integral part of ITDC’s strategy in building a sustainable and resilient tourist destination. “We believe a healthy and comfortable environment creates a sense of security not only for tourists but also for the local community and tourism industry players,” he added.
ITDC also sees that active participation in this program is a contribution to building Bali’s image as a responsible global tourism destination while strengthening an inclusive and collaborative tourism ecosystem.
The main services provided in this event included mass rabies vaccination for pets, sterilization for population control, and public education on animal health and responsible pet care.
In line with ITDC’s sustainability principles, all participants and invitees were also encouraged to bring personal tumblers in compliance with Bali Governor Regulation No. 97 of 2018 on single-use plastic waste reduction.
Through this cross-sector collaboration, ITDC hopes to continue being part of the solution in creating an inclusive, responsible tourism ecosystem that contributes to Bali’s image as a global destination concerned with public health and the environment. TS-01
