PIB College, together with Bali Mandarin Academy (BMA) and Bama Karya Usada (BKU), once again presents an internationally oriented educational program through the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Cooking Workshop for Wellness Tourism.
This TCM workshop combines culinary arts, health, and tourism into a unique learning experience.
The workshop is led by Dr. Lin Yingjie, a TCM doctor from the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, who shares authentic knowledge and practices of traditional Chinese medicine through a culinary approach.
Through hands-on sessions, participants learn how the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine can be applied in food preparation to support health and maintain body balance.
This program is part of PIB College’s commitment to delivering globally relevant education by integrating culture, industry, and international collaboration.
The workshop also aligns with the growing trend of wellness tourism, which is currently one of the fastest-growing sectors in the global tourism industry. Participants gain practical knowledge of TCM-based cooking techniques, insights into wellness concepts in tourism, and direct learning experience from an international practitioner.
PIB College is widely recognized for its culinary excellence, and by integrating health knowledge, it aims to produce healthier culinary products that help prevent illness.
“We want to show how food can promote health—not just provide pleasure or satiety,” said Prof. Sulistyawati.
Meanwhile, Director of Partnership & Event at PIB College, Made Herry Erika Sedana, added that PIB College is moving toward internationalization and aims to become a center for wellness tourism development and education.
“According to the Global Wellness Institute, the prospects for wellness tourism are very promising. PIB aims to become one of the key pillars in developing wellness tourism in Bali, including through collaborations with universities in China, such as with Dr. Lin Yingjie,” Erika explained.
The event is also sponsored by Jatiluwih Tourism Village, strengthening synergy between the education sector and tourism destinations. It is further supported by the Head of Tourism Destination Division of Tabanan, IPA Bali (Indonesia Pastry Alliance Bali), ASITA Bali (Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies), IFBEC (Indonesian Food and Beverage Executive Association Bali), Dharma Usadha Sidhi Hospital, and Natya Hotel Tanah Lot.
